This crochet dino pattern was inspired by one of my Dear Readers. He saw my Cuteosaurus Rex amigurumi pattern and asked for more. Since I really enjoy making animals, I was more than happy to create Curious Baby Diplodocus as well.

In this post I will first go over supplies needed and important notes. Afterwards I will provide the crochet dino pattern together with assembly instructions.

Supplies used in the Crochet Dino Pattern

As you probably have noticed, I made 2 different colors. In the pattern I will use the yellow one as example, but I will also provide yarn details for the green dino.

LEGS

Make 4, starting with yellow yarn (i.e., same as body color) and using 4mm (US G-6) hook.

Fasten off leaving long tail for sewing and stuff. Afterwards attach legs to the body.

CHEEKS

Make 2 using 2mm (US B-1) hook and 4 strands of brown yarn. Drops Paris is a 9 ply yarn, just split it and take 4 out of 9 strands.

6 in mr. Fasten off and attach cheeks to the crochet dino’s face.

HEART

Make 1, using 3mm (US D-3) hook and 5 strands of brown yarn. Similar to what we have done with cheeks – take 5 strands out of 9.

Ch 2 and make all stitches in the very first chain.

2 dc, 2 hdc, dc, 2 hdc, 2 dc, ch 2 and slpst to finish off. Leave tail for sewing. Attach heart to the crochet dino’s body.

  1. Good day there,
Your Crochet Dino Pattern creation is fantastic. What I like best about it is how you progressively piece them together until you have a lovely finished product. We adore it, which is why my girlfriend is attempting to make one using the training instructions provided in this post. We shall return to your blog for more.

It’s a pity they don’t come in families – you know, Daddy Dino, Mummy Dino, baby Dino and Big Sister Dino…Hope I’ve given you some ideas…

It’s a pleasure seeing what next you create.  Thanks so much for sharing!
